Performing
Melissa has been working as a freelance performer since the age of 16 when she worked her first pit show Fame in Cambridgeshire. She has performed widely with orchestras, pit bands, brass bands, and chamber groups, some of which are mentioned below.
She is predominantly a trombonist (tenor and alto) but a confident doubler on both euphonium & baritone horn.
Melissa performs regularly with Championship section Enderby Band in Leicestershire and is a section member of Athena Brass Band. She undertakes regular freelance bookings in addition to her brass band performing and "daytime" work in arts administration, including regular performances with the Aurelian Orchestra and their sister brass ensemble.

An experienced brass band conductor, Melissa cut her teeth with Chatteris Town Band whilst still a student and, having developed her conducting further, has since worked in tenure and as deputy conductor with bands including Rushden Town Band, Raunds Temperance Band, and Kidlington Concert Brass.

A confident player in many settings (including orchestras, theatre bands, brass bands, big bands, and chamber groups of a variety of combinations) Melissa is happy to receive bookings for performing, conducting, and ensemble coaching enquiries, through her contact form.
